Obedience
Many new members join the LDTC when they become the proud owners of a new puppy and take steps to train it. Six sessions take place at the Kennel Club building, Stoneleigh Park on Wednesday evenings, commencing at 7.00pm. All training including puppies and older dogs are now on a Wednesday evening. Each session is structured to provide obedience training at different levels of ability.
From a week after their second vaccination, socialization and very basic obedience training is undertaken in the puppy class and progress can then be made through the other five stages until reaching an advanced level.
The training provided is based on the reward method , approved by the Kennel Club, and should lead to most dogs undertaking the Good Citizen Tests (Bronze, Silver and Gold), a scheme initiated by the Kennel Club to promote responsible dog owners together with basically well trained and well socialized dogs. A charge of £2.00 per dog is payable on the night. If you have any particular problems or queries there is always someone on hand willing to help and advise. Training aids, collars, leads and club items are available to purchase at reasonable costs. Refreshments are normally available to purchase throughout the evening.
Leamington Dog Training Club cannot be held responsible for the loss, damage or injury to any person, their dog(s) or their belongings while in the confines of the training club.
